The Societat Bach (Bach Society) is an organization dedicated to promoting knowledge of early music, particularly music by Johann Sebastian Bach. To meet this objective, the SB, according to its Statutes,  carries out the following activities

• Ceation and management of the Cor Bach. This choir participates in concerts organized by the SB and also in some special masses of the parish of Sant Miquel dels Sants of Barcelona, social seat of the SB.Organization of choral, chamber music and organ concerts at the SB premises.

• Organization of lectures.

• Organization of courses in early music, choral conducting and liturgical music.

• Music school for children and adults.

• Creation of a specialized library.

• Excursions and cultural trips.

• Maintenance of a website to communicate with members and other lovers of Bach music.

• Creation of a boys’ choir.

• Organization of an associated orchestral ensemble.

The Societat Bach currently manages two choral groups, the Cor Bach, a general purpose choir with a special focus on baroque music, and more specifically JS Bach’s, and the Capella Bach, a chamber choir for the purpose of performing music for small groups and experiment with new styles of choral music.

The SB organizes choral and chamber music concerts in its own venues (parish church of Sant Miquel dels Sants, parish church of the Mare de Déu de la Salut and theater of Sant Miquel) and also in other external locations.

In addition, for members and friends of the society, the SB offers adult music courses and other social activities, always related to music, such as visits to museums and notable places, trips to attend concerts and operas, and so on.
